The Joseph Meyerhoff Center for Career Development's mission is to foster the professional growth of MICA students and alumni. The Center strives to help students and alumni succeed in their chosen career paths by offering a variety of programs, services, and resources.

We offer a variety of programs to help MICA students and alumni further their goals in their chosen career paths. The center’s services, programs, and resources are outlined below:

Career Counseling

A career counseling appointment is a great way to start a conversation about what is important to you as a student, and exploring your options and strategies

Internship Program

An internship offers experiential learning outside of the classroom in a professional setting.

Programs

The Career Center offers weekly workshops, information meetings, and special programs on many professional development topics

Grants and Residencies

Career Development can introduce you to the grant seeking process, identify resources for your individual goals, and assist you with your application.

Scholarship Information

Our primary resource is an up to date list of popular websites on which you might find scholarships that you are eligible to apply for – for both graduate and undergraduate study.

Art Competitions

In the Career Development Library you will find many books, magazines, and directories detailing all kinds of art competitions including exhibitions/calls for entries, grant deadlines, and more.

Peer Career Advisors

Our Peer Career Advisors are undergraduate students who are trained in many aspects of professional development and the numerous resources available to students and professional artists.

Resource Library

Our resource library offers information on all aspects of career development for artists, designers, and creative professionals in a range of fields.

Equipment

The equipment in the Center is available for students working on professional development-related projects, including Macs, black & white laser printer, a flatbed scanner, fax machine, photocopier, and light table to review your slides.
