The Washington Post features MICA alumni group Baltimore Development Cooperative (BDC), which stimulates community formation and social change through the group's Stew dinners. MICA faculty member Hugh Pocock is also highlighted for his sustainability classes, inspired by BDC.

MICA Launches Award Program to Support Graduate Alumni Work in Baltimore

MICA establishes a two-year, $100,000 pilot awards program, LAB (Launch Artists in Baltimore), that will offer five $10,000 awards each year to new MICA graduate alumni pursuing initiatives in Baltimore.

Five MICA Community Members Listed As Baker Artist Award Winners

The winners of the 2012 Mary Sawyer Baker Prize were announced on Maryland Public Television’s ArtWorks. These included associate dean Alexander Heilner, student Tiffany Jones and alumni Miranda Pfeiffer ’11, Brent Crothers ’89 ’03 and Marcia Wolfson Ray ’75 ’95.

MICA Community Members Among the 2012 Sondheim Finalists, Semi-Finalists

The Janet & Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize is a competition that awards a $30,000 fellowship to a visual artist or visual artist collaborators that will further fund their careers. The MICA Community fellows are Jonathan Duff '12, Matthew Janson '09 and Jon McNeil '11, who is also a faculty member in the Photography Department.
